Empowering Pharmaceutical Growth: Nexus assisted a pharmaceutical trading company with developing a business plan. Recognizing the client's potential, we leveraged our network to introduce them to a Singaporean venture firm specializing in healthcare. This potential collaboration will enable the client to secure exclusive distribution rights for medical equipment and devices, transforming their business portfolio and growth potential.
Unlocking Opportunities for an MFI: Nexus successfully secured $2.95 million in debt financing from a local commercial bank for a microfinance institution (MFI) with assets over $25 million. In addition to raising capital, Nexus has connected the MFI with several institutional investors, including development finance institutions (DFIs) and ESG-focused investors. These connections provide the MFI with access to a broader investor network, opening doors to new opportunities. By actively engaging with these investors, Nexus obtained valuable feedback on their investment mandates. This critical insight allowed both Nexus and the MFI to refine strategies, enhancing the MFI’s investment readiness and positioning them for future access to blended finance solutions.

Sim Sisavuthara, Founder & CEO of Nexus Capital & Investment Advisory, is a seasoned financial professional with over 14 years of experience. He has held senior leadership roles in the financial sector, including serving as CEO and advisor at two trust companies and head of planning & strategy at a commercial bank. Prior to this, he honed his analytical and financial modeling skills as a senior analyst at two reputable securities firms for seven years. This diverse experience has equipped him with a comprehensive understanding of the Cambodian financial landscape and a strong foundation in trust business, strategic planning, research & analysis, company valuation, capital raising (including IPOs, private debt, private placements, and bank loans), and mergers & acquisitions (M&A).
Since founding Nexus in January 2022, Thara has spearheaded its growth, achieving significant milestones. These include securing $2.95 million in debt financing for a microfinance institution and developing a robust pipeline of high-value projects, such as raising $50 million for a hospitality project, and serving as a sell-side advisor for M&A transactions involving a hospital, an international school, and two microfinance institutions.
Thara’s vision extends beyond transactions; he believes in creating value for clients by connecting them with strategic investors who bring not only capital but also expertise, networks, and reputational strength. This approach has enabled Nexus’s clients to unlock new opportunities and achieve growth potentials.
Thara actively contributes to Cambodia's business community. He serves as a member of the Cambodia Chamber of Commerce and has been actively involved in various initiatives, including serving as a judge and trainer on SME investment readiness for Khmer Enterprise and participating in a panel discussion on green financing challenges for the Cambodia Microfinance Association.
Thara holds a Master of Management (Finance) from the University of Melbourne, Australia, and a Bachelor's Degree (Honours) in Economics from Pannasastra University of Cambodia. He also successfully completed an 8-month management trainee program at OSK Investment Bank Berhad in Malaysia.

Kong Lyheng is a highly motivated senior university student majoring in Accounting and Finance, with an expected graduation in October 2025. He possesses a strong passion for financial markets, investments, and capital strategy. His academic journey is complemented by hands-on experience as an Audit Intern at one of the Big Four accounting firms, where he gained practical exposure to auditing, financial analysis, and compliance in a fast-paced, client-focused environment.
Beyond academics and work, Lyheng is actively involved in leadership, public speaking, and communication development within the Toastmasters community. As a former Club President of a Toastmasters club in Cambodia, he led public speaking programs, mentored members, and organized leadership initiatives, significantly enhancing his team management and communication skills. His linguistic abilities include native Khmer, fluent English, and intermediate proficiency in both Chinese and Vietnamese.
Driven by curiosity, discipline, and a desire to create meaningful impact in the financial services sector, especially in emerging markets, Lyheng has joined Nexus Capital & Investment Advisory as an Investment Analyst Intern since 1 July 2025. In this role, he will gain unparalleled exposure to real-world M&A and capital raising transactions, develop marketing materials, refine reporting skills, and enhance communication by actively supporting Nexus's active mandates and new prospects
